Post getting married in 1965, she emigrated to Nigeria with her husband George Jacob, teaching in Eastern Nigeria in Nnewi prior to the Civil War, and subsequently in Ejigbo. After the Civil War along she was hired (along with her husband) at C.M.S Grammar School to teach O-Level Biology. Her career at C.M.S included teaching students in Form 3 through 5 both Biology theory and practical in the Biology Lab. Her dedication to her students and the Grammar School was plain to see through the achievements of her students.
In addition to her teaching duties, she raised her family in the Staff Quarters of C.M.S. Grammar School from 1969 to 1985 becoming part of the community of teachers at the Grammar School and having close knit friendships with several of the teachers. In addition to the school community mom was an active planner and organizer ensuring that the family made it to Church regularly on Sundays and was heavily engaged in social activities both in the local Indian - Kerala community in Lagos and the C.M.S. Grammar School Community.
In 1989 she emigrated to the United States at the age of 47 alongside her family playing an active role as the matriarch of the family, and extending her motherly love to the whole family including her grandchildren. Playing an active role in caring for the extended family gives her the most joy. She continues to be with the family in the U.S and enjoys time as a retiree continuing to spend time with her children, grandchildren and husband and actively participating in Church activities.
